Lann: The Optimistic Mongrelman
Prerequisites:
- Female player character
- Don’t side with Wenduag in Act 3
Lann, a Mongrelman and descendant of the first Crusaders, is a character with a tragic backstory. To romance Lann, you must play as a female character. Lann’s quest for redemption and a heroic end provides a unique angle to his romance storyline.
Simply put, Lann might be the ideal choice if you have a female character who embarked on a typical hero’s journey. Do note that immoral or evil actions might strain your relationship with him.
Wenduag: The Deadly Huntress
Prerequisites:
- Pursue strength in your choices and be open to evil or cruel decisions
Wenduag, a fierce huntress hailing from the Mongrelmen tribe, is a character who leaves her home to follow her new commander. Wenduag is open to romance from both male and female characters, making her a versatile option for players.
Despite the versatility, however, Wenduag errs on the chaotic or the evil spectrum in the Dungeons and Dragons moral classification (which Pathfinder adopted). So don’t expect your advances to result in anything fruitful if you have a ‘good’ character, regardless of gender.
Daeran: The Playful Aasimar
Prerequisites:
- Be a bit selfish and hedonistic
Daeran, an Aasimar with a carefree and playful outlook on life, can be romanced by characters of any gender. His perception of the world as his cabaret presents an intriguing backdrop for a potential romance.
He’s thus morally ambiguous, though Daeran will always side with the good guys when push comes to shove. There’s not much of a hard requirement to win Daeran’s heart (as his affection is cheap anyway), but if you want a more compatible pairing, then don’t take life too seriously in-game and be open to fun and worldly distractions.
Sosiel: The Conflicted Cleric
Prerequisites:
- Male player character
Sosiel begins his journey as a Cleric, and he’s a firm believer that beauty lies within every individual. However, his heart is open only to male characters. His commitment to healing and nurturing others offers an opportunity for players to form a deep and compassionate connection.
You’ll find that Sosiel is also struggling to keep his faith, especially during tough times, but as his paramour, you can set him on the right path (whichever you think that is).
Arueshalae: The Redeeming Succubus
Prerequisites:
- Prioritize emotional connection to physical; keep it in your pants at first
Arueshalae, a succubus seeking redemption from her demonic nature, enters the scene in Act 2 of the campaign. She is available for romance with both male and female characters. Her story arc provides an interesting twist on the traditional succubus character archetype.
Seeing as she’s a “recovering” demoness, it’s rather important to help Arueshalae in controlling or defying her succubus urges. While her romance is one of the most accessible and stress-free out of all the options here, eagerness in its physical aspect won’t win Arueshalae’s heart.
Queen Galfrey: The Veteran Crusader
Prerequisites:
- Good or non-chaotic Mystic Path character
- Convince her to join the party
Queen Galfrey, a legendary leader of the Crusaders, has seen her share of battles and victories. Her longing for love and companionship thus becomes a central theme. To initiate a romance with her, players must follow either the Angel or Aeon Mythic Paths, and Queen Galfrey is open to both male and female characters.
Do keep in mind that even if you manage to convince her to join the party, she’s not a conventional companion, and you can’t take her into combat with you. She’s a queen, after all. Still, if you’re looking to wife her up, then there’s nothing stopping you.
