A couple bug fixes.

BIOS 1.07 (E799 DARK K|NGP|N / E798 Classified)

• Improves memory OC ability and performance
• Supports OC profile
• Supports AMD EXPO module
• Supports more Vcore V/F points
• Fixes CPU Ring Control Issue
• Fixes issue where some software may cause DIMM changed detection
• Supports Smart fan control via ELEET X1

Windows Installation

• Download the correct .zip file below for your motherboard:

121-AL-E799-KR - EVGA Z790 DARK K|NGP|N- v1.07

• First go into your BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
• Close all open programs.
• Go into the folder where you unzipped this package and double-clickupdate.bat
• Press Y to start the flash process
• DO NOT TURN OFF POWER OR RESET DURING THE FLASH PROCESS
• After the flash is finished, the system will automatically shut down. Power on the system again and go into BIOS and adjust settings as needed.
• NOTE: If flash box immediately closes after flash attempt, the flash may need to be run from a CMD prompt with administrator privileges or DOS version.

BIOS Installation within BIOS

• Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
• Reboot the machine and go into the system BIOS
• From the BIOS, navigate to the EXTRAS tab at the upper left and click on "BIOS Update"
• Select the .bin file you wish to flash.

BIOS Installation Without CPU

• Extract the contents of .zip file to USB flash drive (must be formatted as FAT32)
• Rename the file "EVGAE7XX.bin", where XX is the last two digits of the part number (e.g. Z790 DARK K|NGP|N should be EVGAE799.bin)
• Install the USB flash drive into the USB Type-A port on the motherboard.
• Make sure to connect the 24pin power connector from your power supply to the motherboard.
• Switch on the power supply, if it is not already on.
• Hold the BIOS Update button on the rear I/O for approximately 2 seconds until the flash begins (the cursor on the POST LED will begin cycling)
• The BIOS update may take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete. When done, the board will restart.
• Complete the rest of your build at this point to confirm a successful flash.

Are these same optimizations coming to the Z690 Dark? Also, when is tRCDWR control being added to all LGA 1700 bios?

my serial ends in 22, so it looks like they had at least 2 dozen. should be a larger batch in the coming weeks too, from what i understand.

Had them a while but too busy with KP690 which is still an amazing board .
Also got use a Tachyon for crossfire which is a shame.
How do they compare to the Z690 KP ?

Had no problems with Z690 but this one is playing hard ball.
Forget it , it does not support SLI.
Wish I knew .
Anybody want to buy a Z790 used once ?
Should have kept my 690 .

not sure there are many, if any Z790 boards that support SLI. Even Apex needs a ucode patch to get it working. Did you find a buyer? I might know someone interested. Are you only looking to ship to Aus or worldwide?

I performed BIOS update on Z790 Dark Board. v 1.10
I did the update via USB flash. Only motherboard power cable connected. No CPU no GPU no RAM... fresh out the box.
Took like 5 minutes to update.
The board restarted once.
I got debug LED code : 1.2
what does 1.2 mean?
I think it normal.
Should i clear Cmos after the update.
Also when powering it on nothing shows up on Debug LED. Is that normal too?

I did my update w/ no cpu, ram or gpu and got post code of 1.4, ended up being normal. According to manual you'll get get error code after updating BIOS w/ no cpu or

cpu power cable attached. You'll have to finish build to learn 1.2 ok.
