Kylie’s luscious pillowy lips were the envy of so many of her fans, so she launched her brand with kits featuring a liquid lipstick and lip liner set online, using $250,000 of her modeling savings to produce the first round of 15,000 products. The item launched in November 2015 and immediately sold out. Forbes reported that KylieCosmetics made a whopping $400 million in revenue in its first 18 months in business.
She soon branched out into additional lip products as well as eye shadows, liners, blush, foundation and more beauty products. Kylie began doing special themed collections and launched several pop-up stores while expanding her company. In 2022, the Ulta Beauty chain began carrying Kylie’s products in their retail stores.
The California native grew her business with the debut of Kylie Skin in May 2019, which featured moisturizers, serums, eye creams, face masks and other skincare products.
